Fifty-two years on from the François Truffaut movie adaptation, Ray Bradbury's dystopian sci-fi masterpiece Fahrenheit 451 is about to hit the small screen. Brought to us by HBO, the project has finally dropped its first trailer with impeccable timing, given its two leading actors are currently smashing it at the box office.
Starring Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) and Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water), the film, like the original book, will depict an oppressive world where the government has banned all types of literature, hiring firemen to burn any traces of books they find.
We'll be following Jordan in the role of Guy Montag, a fireman who starts to doubt the policy after he falls in love with a pro-book rebel. Shannon will be playing his mentor Captain Beatty. In charge of direction is Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes, Chop Shop). The film is due to drop on HBO this May.
