'Stranger Things' Third Season To Welcome Three New Characters

Stranger Things season two saw a handful of new characters touch down in Hawkins, including Bob Newby (Sean Astin), Doctor Owens and siblings Billy Hargrove and Max Mayfield.

Keeping us on our toes, the series creators are also planning on injecting new blood into the next chapter of the show, including "new evil" from the Upside Down. With still a while to go until season three hits, That Hashtag Show has managed to get its hands on character descriptions of three new arrivals.

This time, the new additions won't be joining the Hawkins kids' crew but rather the show's growing list of baddies. The first will be town mayor, Larry Kline, who is described as a "80s-style slick politician" driven only by his own interests. The second is Bruce, a "morally compromised news reporter in his 50s" who is "outwardly sexist, overweight and bedraggled".

The third new character is a "sweet, neighborhood elder" by the name of Patricia Brown, who spends her time "tending to her garden and offering her advice to the neighbourhood kids". But we're guessing there's more to it than that, with the publication even suggesting she could have connections to the Upside Down.

Apparently production is currently on the lookout for actors to fill these three roles, meaning planning for season three is coming along slowly but surely. Filming is expected to start this year, for a release in 2019. Plenty of time to stock up on Eggos and rewatch the first two seasons on Netflix before then!
